Bio
Johan Stenfeldt is Associate Professor of History at Lund University, Sweden. In his research, he has devoted himself to political idea analysis and questions about how historical experiences are made usable in the ideological debate. Alongside political idea analysis, Stenfeldt has extensive experience in historical actor studies, ideological transition processes and social network analysis. These themes are touched on and developed in different ways in his three monographs Dystopiernas seger. Från Konfucius till historiens slut (Lund: Studentlitteratur, 2023), all of which in different ways revolve around Nazism, fascism, and the ideological foundations of dictatorship. Among his international publications is Perspectives on the Entangled History of Communism and Nazism. A Comnaz Analysis (edited together with Klas-Göran Karlsson and Ulf Zander, Lexington books, 2015). Methodologically, Stenfeldt has developed the analysis of ideologies along conceptual historical lines, not least in his research on the Swedish national socialists Sven Olov Lindholm and Nils Flyg.
